Miriam Martíne Garrido
DVM, PhD, MRCVS, Dip. ECVDI, EBVS®
European and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Miriam is a Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging and a RCVS recognised Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging.
Miriam graduated from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2010. Subsequently, she undertook a rotating internship at VRCC Veterinary Referrals in Essex (UK), followed by an Internship in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Murcia. She undertook her Residency in Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) at the same university, from 2015-2018. During this time, she also participated in exchanges with the Universities of Dublin and Glasgow. In addition, she also participated in an exchange with the University of Tufts (Boston, USA). She gained her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2019 (Dip.ECVDI). Between 2018 and 2020 she worked as Head of the Diagnostic Imaging department for a referral hospital in the UK (Southfields Veterinary Specialists). In February 2020 she founded ProtonVet Veterinary Radiology of which she is the CEO. She currently works as a Teleradiology consultant for ProtonVet Veterinary Radiology. In February 2023 she finished her PhD.
Miriam has written several publications in national and international journals and has participated in several imaging courses and conferences. She is a member of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (EAVDI) and of the Asociación de Veterinarios Especialistas Diplomados de España (AVEDE).
Raúl Altuzarra
DVM, MRCVS, DipECVDI, EBVS®
European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Raúl is a Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI).
Raúl graduated from the University of Zaragoza in 2006. He then worked during several years in private practice. Then, he undertook a rotating internship at the Hospital Clínico Veterinario of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (2012-2013). Raúl undertook his Residency in Diagnostic Imaging from 2013 to 2016 at the Fundación Hospital Clínic Veterinari of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, gaining his Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2019. During this time, he also participated in numerous exchanges with European and American universities (Glasgow, Dublin, London, Kansas, among others). Raúl then worked for 3 years in a referral hospital in the UK. He currently works in private practice and as a Teleradiology consultant.
Raúl has written several publications in national and international journals and has participated in several imaging courses and conferences.
Elisabet Domínguez
MSc, PhD, DVM, MRCVS, DipECVDI, EBVS®
European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Elisabet is a Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging and a RCVS recognised Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging.
Elisabet graduated from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2005. After an 18-month rotating internship at Fundació Hospital Clínic Veterinari (FHCV-UAB), she started her PhD program on Diagnostic Imaging of Laboratory Animals. After finishing her PhD, she undertook a Residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the FHCV-UAB, gaining her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary in 2014. Elisabeth has participated in numerous exchanges with both European and American Universities.
She then spent 2 years working in the UK for the Animal Health Trust (AHT, UK) and as a Teleradiology consultant. She currently lives in Barcelona, where she works at Anicura Hospital Ars Veterinary and continues to work as a Teleradiology consultant.

Elisabet has written several publications in national and international journals, and participated in several imaging courses and conferences. She has a special interest for feline diagnostic imaging.
Tommaso Gregori
DVM, MRCVS, Dip. ECVDI, EBVS®
Tommaso Gregori, graduated from the University of Parma (Italy) in 2008, is an EBVS-recognized veterinary specialist in diagnostic imaging, since 2015. After working in a rescue center in Spain (Scooby, Medina del Campo), a few years of general practice in the UK and after completing a rotating internship at the University of Bristol (UK), Tommaso has undertaken an ECVDI residency program at the Royal Veterinary College London (UK), between 2012 and 2015, to become a specialist in diagnostic imaging.
Tommaso has been an examiner of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI), he is a reviewer of Veterinary Radiology Ultrasound and he has written or collaborated for the creation of several scientific papers in the field of diagnostic imaging, published internationally.
Tommaso currently works as a Teleradiology consultant.
Mark B.Taylor
MA, DVM, DACVR
Mark is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology.
After graduating in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Kansas State University in 1998, he worked many years as a general practitioner, becoming head of the emergency department for the largest specialty hospital in South East Florida, and then did mobile ultrasound along the Atlantic coast before moving to Virginia. Mark completed a residency in clinical nutrition from Virginia Polytechnic University in 2006 and became a consultant to Fresh Pet and Rayne Clinical Nutrition. While practicing as a clinical nutritionist and mobile sonographer in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland, and interim director for Sound Technologies, he was offered a residency in Diagnostic Imaging through Vital Rads and Texas A and M in 2016. Mark completed his residency in 2019 and became board certified in the same year.
Mark has written several publications in both botany and animal sciences. He has experience in all diagnostic modalities with a special interest in neuroimaging, echocardiography and abdominal ultrasounds.
Daniel Ivan
DVM, Dip. ECVDI, EBVS®
European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Daniel is a Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging.
Daniel studied veterinary medicine in Bucharest, Romania. During his studies, he spent on year as an Erasmus student at the University of Bologna, Italy. After finishing university, he worked for a couple of years in private practice in Romania and Austria, mainly doing surgery, anesthesia and diagnostic imaging. Daniel enrolled in a residency in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Zürich, Switzerland and in 2023 passed the final examinations, becoming a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
Alessandra Destri
DVM, Dip. ECVDI, EBVS®
Alessandra is a Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging and a RCVS recognised Specialists in Diagnostic Imaging.
She graduated with honours in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pisa in 2010. She then performed an Erasmus placement at Ars Veterinaria soon after graduation, in Barcelona and a one rotating Internship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 2012.
After her internship, she worked in general practice for some time and then moved to Utrecht to perform a six-months dedicated Internship in Diagnostic Imaging at the University.
In 2015 she started a further dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Internship at the Veterinary, Referral Centre in Godstone, Surrey UK.
In 2016 she started her residency in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket, Suffolk UK.
From 2020 she works as a Clinician in Veterinary Radiology at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, in the south of England.
She obtained the European Diploma in Veterinary Radiology in 2022.
She is the author of numerous publications and a book chapter in a Radiology book.
When not working she enjoys hiking, walking with her “ridiculously cute” Border Terrier named Phoebe, running and travelling.
Judit Verdés Martínez
DVM, Dip. ECVDI, EBVS®
Judit graduated from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona (Spain) with an extraordinary prize at the end of her degree in 2012. Subsequently, she undertook a general rotating internship at Ars Veterinaria Veterinary Hospital in Barcelona, followed by an internship in Diagnostic imaging at Valencia Sur Veterinary Hospital. During a period of 4 years, she worked as an emergency and general practice veterinarian in referral hospitals in Barcelona and Valencia, focusing her interest in diagnostic imaging and combining work with externships abroad (University of Glasgow, Dick White Referrals) and nationally. In October 2017, she joined the Diagnostic Imaging Service at Fundació Hospital Clínic Veterinari (FHCV-UAB) until she undertook the ECVDI resident position in October 2019, finishing in September 2022. She gained her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2024 (Dip. ECVDI)
She has attended several conferences both national and abroad with oral communications and posters on several occasions. During her training period as a resident, she has actively participated in training staff and teaching students as well as in preparing lectures with academic purpose.
Her areas of interest are neuroimaging and oncological cases, as well as the application of new imaging diagnostic techniques.
Alejandro Ororbia Aranguren
DVM, MSc., MRCVS,
Alejandro graduated from the University of Leon (Spain) in 2015, then achieving its master’s degree in small animal medicine. Subsequently, he undertook a general internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Valencia (Spain). He undertook an internship in Diagnostic Imaging at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona He undertook his Residency in Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) at Pride referrals (UK), from 2021-2024. Alejandro has passed the first credentials exam to get the diploma and he is currently preparing the requirements to achieve the specialist diploma. He is joining us to continue growing his caseload and for training for his practical exam.

Laura Vilalta Solé
LV, PhD, Dipl. CZM (Small mammal), EBVS®
European Veterinary Specialist in Small Mammal Medicine and Surgery.
Laura is a Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine.
Laura graduated in veterinary medicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 2009. After working for a while in a private exotic animal clinic, she undertook a rotating internship at the Fundació Hospital Clínic Veterinari of the UAB. She then undertook her European residency in exotic animals, specialising in small mammals, at the same hospital (2012-2015).
In 2017 she gained her Diploma of the European College of Zoological Medicine, specializing in small mammals, after which she joined the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University of Valencia “San Vicente Mártir” as a lecturer and as head of the Exotic Animal Service at the hospital of the same university. Since January 2020 she has been collaborating with LABOKLIN Spain as a consultant in exotic animal medicine. In 2022 she finished her PhD studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the UAB, focusing her research on excretory urography in rabbits. She is the director of the IFEVET postgraduate course on exotic animals since 2021. She currently works at the Exotic Animal Service of the Canis Girona Veterinary Hospital.
Laura is the author and co-author of several publications in national and international scientific journals.

Giorgia Santarelli
PhD, DVM, MRCVS, Dipl. ECVIM-CA (Cardiology), EBVS®
Giorgia is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, specialised in Cardiology.
Giorgia graduated cum laude in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bologna in 2008, and she then secured her Master’s Degree in Reproductive Technology and Veterinary Medicine Diagnostic from the University of Murcia in 2011. After a 2 years internship in the Cardiology Department of the University of Murcia, she undertook her residency in the same Department, as well as in Utrecht and Barcelona’s Internal Medicine services. In 2018 she gained her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – specialised in Small Animal cardiology. She achieved her PhD in 2019. After working for 2 years in the Cardiology Department of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies of Edinburgh, she is now working as a small animal cardiologist for the University of Utrecht.
Giorgia has written several publications in national and international journals and has participated in different courses and conferences.
Domingo Casamián
DVM, CertSAM, MRCVS, DVC, Dipl. ECVIM-CA, EBVS®
Domingo is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, specialised in Cardiology.
Domingo graduated from the University of Zaragoza, and he then completed an internship at the Animal Medical Centre (Manchester). Once completed, Domingo worked in two referral hospitals in the UK, period during which he secured the RCVS certificates in Small Animal Internal Medicine and Veterinary Cardiology. Between 2006 and 2013, he undertook 2 residency programs, the first one in Small Animal Internal Medicine and the second one in Veterinary Cardiology, after which he became a double Diplomate and specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine (ECVIM) and in Veterinary Cardiology (RCVS). He stayed at the Small Animal Hospital of the University of Bristol until 2016, first as a cardiologist and then as head of its Cardiology Department. After working for 18 months at Dick White Referrals, Domingo joined Southfields Veterinary Specialists in 2018 as head of the Cardiology Department, while also teaching and working at the Universidad Católica de Valencia. In April of 2020, Domingo joined the Universidad Católica de Valencia full time as a teacher and as head of the Cardiology, Respiratory and Interventional Cardiology Department.
Domingo is currently completing a part-time PhD, exploring the cardiovascular and arrhythmogenic effects of Leishmania Infantu. He has also written several publications in national and international journals and has participated in different courses and conferences. His main areas of interest are arrythmias, interventionism and interaction between heart and respiratory conditions.
Lorena Martinez
DVM, DipECVN, MRCVS, EBVS®
EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Neurology
Lorena graduated from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 2010. She undertook a small animal rotating internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists (UK), followed by a second rotating internship at the Animal Health Trust (UK). After that, Lorena moved to Australia for three years where she completed her Residency in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Melbourne.
In 2019 she moved back to the UK and worked for two years in a referral hospital as a clinician in Neurology. In July 2021, she obtained her Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN).
Lorena is interested in all aspects of neurology with a particular interest for brain diseases, neuroimaging and acute polyradiculoneuritis in dogs.
